Driver was not on time Had straps and blankets Driver was not respectful First of all he arrived two hours late, he did phone to let us know that he was coming late because he was on another job and it was taking longer than he expected. He said that because he was going to be late he would bring an extra person,at no charge, to help with the move. When he arrived the extra person he brought had to go, so they were left with two and they moved very slowly and took them longer than expected . When they had finally finished he demanded an extra £40 from my Mum because it took so long to move and he was late for something else. He took advantage because I wasn't there when they were moving, and for some unknown reason I was unable contact my parents and relay the discussion we had when he phoned my house early on and both my parents were old and unable to help him move. I was wondering why he was so cheap, because from what my parents said he was the worst. I have his details now so I will know better not to use him again. Driver's response: Hi There, As the customer explained above, I did phone her in advance to explain our delay. The actual booking time was 12pm and we started the job at 1.30pm. I took a third man with me as a courtesy as this wasn't part of the job, but unfortunately after few minutes he had to leave as he had an emergency. Both properties were old homes which are protected with many doors and in addition, the customer opted not to pay the stair charge which meant that we were transporting all of the goods via the lifts. As both properties were older properties, the lifts were also of the older variety and they weren't big enough to take a lot of goods at one time, there were therefore multiple trips which needed to be made. All of the above caused the job to finish in 3 hours instead of 2 hours which is out of our control. I was supposed to charge £121 for first 2 hours booked and then £56 for an extra hour. When I asked the customer's parents to pay the extra money, the lady got worried and said she didn't have the money. At that point I specifically said to her not to worry. I fully appreciated that they were pensioners and said that if they didn't have the payment for the additional time, that was not a problem. However, the lady did manage to pay me £155 which I gratefully accepted. However, it would appear that despite me giving a discount for the additional 30 minutes labour, the customer is still unhappy. I feel that this is very unfair. Pregnant lady made accommodation to come earlier for half an hour and he was late by 1.5 hours!!!! We asked for discount and they wouldn't give it to us. the work was done slowly. just unbelievable! Driver's response: Unfortunately, although I did request an earlier start to this booking, my helper then became ill and I had to find a replacement, which meant that the start time was delayed. This was because the smaller truck had broken down, so reasonably beyond his control. Despite the rocky start, the move was overall very smooth and quick. We made one stop for a Gumtree pickup, and everything went smoothly. CMV response: Original driver broke down so this driver was a replacement vehicle as we will never leave a customer stranded without a van for their move. This driver did a good job although he was unavoidably late to the booking as he was a replacement vehicle. Customer refunded for the lateness as per our lateness refund policy.	8 years ago

The pick-up was an hour and a half late, but the substitute driver was great! Musa was very kind and helpful, and also a good driver. There was no trouble with getting me and my daughter to travel in the truck, which I feared might be an issue because some movers don't like having passengers.	8 years ago

Had to call Compare the man and van to get it sorted, so the driver arrived 1.5 hours late. He was great and I understand these things happen but I hope there is a way to prevent it from happening again.	8 years ago

He had to take a 15 min break also didn't help me take all my belongings to my new place so I'm left on my own with children and a small car to do it! We helped him pack the van which was needed to drop aid for refugees off to our shipping company. I was told bymy contact at the company that he did npt help them unpack the van. We you hire a man and a van and state that you need the drivera help, packing and unpacking that they would unpack on the other side....	9 years ago

After showing up late they were ridiculously slow with moving our belongings. We had two men and when one was moving the boxes the other just stood around, even after being told to get on with it. They also dismantled a wardrobe for us - broke it! When they put it back together they have done a rubbish job and the shelves aren't even straight. NEVER USE! However, he informed me he was a new business and as such did not have a trolley which meant I had to enlist my former tenant's help to load the washing machine and small freezer into his van and then a stranger's help to carry the washing machine and small freezer into the shed in my garden where they were being stored. I trust he will buy a trolley to enable items to be moved without too much hassle. Apart from that, I would happily use his services again.	9 years ago
